    Activating 64bit using 32Bit Key


    My Laptop Compaq CQ61 Shipped with Windows 7 Home premium 32bit Version. lately i upgrade it's memory to 4GB. to utilize all the 4GB memory i need windows 7 64bit OS so is it possible to use my OEM product key (that came with the laptop) for 32bit Home premium to activate 64bit windows 7?

    Yes, under the EULA you are entitled to either 32 or 64 bit with each license.

I got a new laptop and its 64 bit, i was wondering is it possible to install both a 32bit XP/Vista/7 partition with a 64bit 7 partition as well? I know i have to install the older os first after wiping the drive if i choose xp or vista. Never had a 64bit computer before and i knew i couldn't use 64...
my old laptop suddenly crashed due to motherboard problem but luckily my hard drive was saved so I bought an enclosure for it to recover the files. so my problem is, i'll buy a new laptop without an OS since i have an original license key for my Win7 pro 32bit but i have no idea how to re-activate...
OS: Win 7 64bit. Is it generally not a problem to choose to install a piece of 32bit software outside the win 7 default program folder for 32bit software? Or is 32bit software only supposed to be running flawlessly, if installed in that default 32bit folder? Thanks.
