Windows 7 x64 finally!

The keys are version specific. Moreover, I agree with the other members, I would get rid of those programs, who knows what's in there. I didn't know MS would help you clean a pirate copy, but I think they only mean remove the crack, I doubt they would clean any other malware. Run Windows Easy Transfer, collect files and settings and clean install.

The guys main machine has like 30,000 songs.. yes 30K. so there's tons of transfering and shit I'll have to do. it will be a long day i think. lol but they might all be on a external HD I think, and hope

Bring along a laptop with lots of disk space? And image it before you go and restore it when you come back

well to save him a little bit of money you could pick up a seven family pack from a trusted retailer. while they are no longer being sold by MS they are still available through some retailers, amazon has a few new copies left, obviously you dont want to buy a used copy of any OS.

Office Depot has it:Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Family Pack Upgrade Version For 3 Users by Office Depot
It was discontinued by Microsoft, so not many left

He should follow the prompts given by WAT to solicit MS help. They have a program where they make good activations out of those where the user can prove he bought Windows in good faith and was scammed.
