windows boot issues

Hello,

I recently installed Windows 7 on my computer and when it was finished i was into windows 7 and i used it for a little while, then restarted my computer and the following error came up:

Windows Boot Manager

File: \$Windows.~BT\Windows\system32\winload.exe
could not load

Status: 0xc000000f

It told me to put my windows 7 disk in to try and do a repair, but when I do that the computer just goes to a blue windows 7 background and just sits there.
I tried this again but instead put my Windows XP cd in, and the computer boots up fine when I have the XP cd in (without going through any repairing process)

As soon as I take that XP cd out, I get the same error message and I can't boot my computer up.

Please someone help me resolve this issue as it is very frustrating and I just want to enjoy my new OS!

Thanks in advance

Well, it seems for some reason your BCD store is messed up.

This is the first time i have seen such an error. How did you originally install Win 7 and what were the circumstances?

You say if you boot to the Win 7 install DVD, you can't get to the second window and select repair?

Save all data on your computer that is precious to you.

Insert win7 dvd in optical drive but do NOT close the door.

Shuddown computer.

Close dvd door.

Powerup computer.

Perform a clean install ( do not choose any option about saving your old system or the likes thereof. Remember you have already saved off onto, most probably USB sticks, everything dear to your heart.)

Yeah if I put the windows 7 CD in and I select the repair option, it will bring me to a blue windows 7 screen and just sit there with the cd idle. Not sure why that is happening.

Karlsnooks:

Everytime I power up the computer with the windows 7 cd in, it will bring me to that blue screen and won't let me do a re-install?

Could you give us the nitty gritty details of exactly what happens, what appears on the screen, in what sequence?

Well, try this then. Before you select the repair option after booting to the Win 7 Install DVD, hit shift+F10. In the command window, type bcdedit. The readout should show what your BCD stores says.

If it does say $Winxxx as part of the path, it needs to be changed if you know you have a real install of Win 7. Use the following link to see if you can get it changed.
