After marking Win7 active, you'll still need to run startup Repair from the Win7 DVDto write the MBR to Win7 HD.
The "Load Drivers" link is not relevant to this task.
Unplug XP drive, boot the Win7 DVD, select Repair My Computer, then click through to Recovery Tools list to run Startup Repair up to 3 separate times with reboots until Win7 starts up.
So i marked it as active. When i disconnected the XP HDD it now gives me "NTLDR is missing. Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart". Now i put the windows 7 disc it. Let's see if it can repair it now, waiting behind the disc right now (takes a really long time for it to load for some reason).
Okay, a little update. So after i got the "NTLDR is missing" error i inserted the Windows 7 disc and tried to repair it. This time it started with a "Searching for Windows Installations". And then it automatically gave me a box saying something is broken and it will fix it and then reboot. So i pressed okay and the it restarded. But if i took the disc out then it still gave me the NTLDR error.
So i tried again, went to repair. This time it also searched for installations or whatever and before if the list was emty then now i could see my Windows 7. So i clicked next and there i would see on the top that it would show me "Windows 7" when before it was just "Un..." something. Bascially that it was missing, don't remember the excact word. So i went to Startup repair. It started repairing. In the end after it was finished i pressed for the details. The last thing was this:
"Root cause found: Boot manager is missing or corrupt
Repair action: File repair
Result: Completed Successfully"
It went on with things like error code, but that was basically it (ofcourse there were a lot of lines before that). So now i thought it would be fixed. But i still get the NTLDR error!
Right now i booted from the disc again, but this time it seems to freeze on the "Windows is Loading files" black screen. Let's hope it get's pass it.
Another update. So after quite some time i figured it is not gonna do anything on the "Windows is Loading files" screen. So i took the disc out and suddenly it went to a new screen. On that screen i got this info:
File: \windows\system32\boot\winload.exe
Status: 0xc0000001
Info: The selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or corrupt.
So if my Windows 7 disc doesn't seem to work anymore (i tried it quite a few times, it always get's stuck there). Can i fix that problem from inside the windows? I am in my Widnows 7 right now (reconnected XP HDD). If i can just get that file and go in the folder i can fix it?
Okay, i got the disc working. Everything is fixed.
I went for repairs again and this time when i looked at the details it gave me this:
After a bunch of tests the last lines were:
"Root cause found: Boot sector code for system disk parition is corrupt.
Repair action: Boot sector repairs
Result: Completed successfuly."
And after that there was the errorcode and time.
Now it all works.
