When seeing that present on the drive it means you won't have to boot from the 7 dvd in order to use the tools themselves. When using using other drive tools for creating the OS primary 7 will go on the item for ths startup repair may still be seen but with no files present. You're better off with them present just in case.
I kind of like it even knowing I have Acronis True Image as well , though its always better to be safe than sorry and a 100mb isn't much ....
When going to partiion a drive with GParted used often here the one noticable difference to an install of 7 to a drive later when compared to a fresh 7 install on a virtual drive is not seeing the 100mb on the internal HD while present on the VHD there. The Virtual PC in sense prepares the drive(virtual) there rather then the usual drive tools.

Another thing you will find out about 7 is having it's own option for creating a system image whee you won't need Acronis or another 3rd party app for this. Backup Complete Computer - Create an Image Backup

That as well as the Windows Easy Transfer tool are two good items to get familiar with! Windows Easy Transfer - Transfer To & From Computers

I tried to cue up WindowsImageBackup to reimage HD using F8 Advanced Boot Tools "Repair My Computer" on a machine with 100mb SysReserved partition.

It told me I needed to restart with Win7 DVD to achieve this as the Advanced boot tools are on the same HD being reimaged.

This could be a problem for those unaware of it as I was. Is it an anomaly?

That sounds logical. How do you say: "cannot sell your cake and eat it" - LOL.

IKamuiI, may I suggest that you start your own thread rather than hijacking this one. You will get a lot more attention and better answers.

That's like someone suggesting wiping the entire drive while you are still booted in the OS installed on it! You don't get anywhere fast!

How does one go about restoring the image ? Do you use the repair disc for it ? Better yet can I restore am image unto a clean reformatted hard drive ( A Slave drive ) and have windows 7 load afterwards ?

To restore an image you first need to burn the restore CD. You then change your BIOS to boot from CD and throw the restore CD in. That contains a wizard which will guide you. It will give you options as to which restore point to use (usually one uses the last one) and a couple of other options (e.g. image verification). There is no need to load Win7 afterwards because the image IS Win7 plus all the data you might have on C.
