Upgraded Vista to Windows 7 build 7077 x86

Have done an upgrade from Vista Ultimate x86 to Win 7 7077 x86. Absolutely no problems, went as smooth as can be.

Increased speed, even though there is only 2GB RAM and 160GB hdd. Vista felt sluggish and slow. It has now grown wings.

I didn't have much of a problem with Vista's speed with 2GB of RAM. Though I have Home Premium and not Ultimate. Either way each build of 7 that I've used are noticeably better than Vista's speed.

I ran Vista under 2, 4 and then 8 Gbs of RAM and didnt notice any major issue with speeds either way. Maybe it's my quad core, I don't know...

But Win7 is definitely quicker in general.

2gb with XP and later XP/Vista until having just upgraded the memory before the scheduled 1/2009! The upgrade from 2gb to 4gb as far as the 32bit XP Home?Vista Home Premium dual boot didn't notice any big improvement except for less drag seen for video captures, editing, and basic recording with the tuner card in XP only however for that.

The 7000 32bit still sees one far too long shutdown or restart time while the startup remains normal after a quick tryout of the RocketDock tool bar along with the taskbar during the initial load up of a ton of programs to see how well it ran along with looking at compatibility issues. While the RD bar is long gone something is left over somewhere there until that's done with.

7's refinements are what see it finish loading and an overall performance increase over XP! as well as Vista. You should see how long it takes for XP to finish loading here surprisingly with far less on it then 7!

("when will that time piece stop appearing?" hhmmm...)
