Windows 7 Home Premium installation issues
Hi everyone, I hope you can help me, this is a last ditch attempt at solving this issue, before I pay some one. I purchased a complete system from a shop here in nz, Along with the hardware I purchased a Windows 7 Home Premium pack.
I have built and installed many pc's over the years, and this issue has me stumped.
I built the system, and started to load the OS, after the first two installation bars, it went to the "starting windows" screen, where the 4 coloured balls turns into the windows symbol, and the system hung, so I goggled a fix, and preceded to turn off all non needed things in bios, and remove any non necessary peripherals, and pci cards. Reboot, and try reinstall. Success! or so I thought, now we get to the flower style splash screen with the bird, excellent!. NO Failed, hangs again. I restarted the install, this time in safe mode, hangs on disk.sys. So I tried a few more things, like new vid card, new HDD, new windows disk, new dvd rom, no luck. I try again, and I had some success, I got to the installation part, followed through with install to the part where you reboot, then it hangs again restart, this time at the black windows screen, with the pulsating windows symbol. I leave it overnight, just in case i am not being patient enough, and still no luck. By this point I have had enough, I cant complete the installation in safemode, I tried loading chipset drivers in the install screen and reinstall, still no luck. So i took the HDD out, and put it in another machine, completed installation, and put it back into the new machine. Now I can get the new machine to boot into safe mode Excellent! or so I thought, I loaded all the drivers, and restart not only does it hang on the shutdown part of the restart, it still hangs on the black screen with the pulsing windows logo on restart. I am stumped, I don't have any spare i5 gear to test the motherboard, or the ram, and I have come to the end of what I can do. Google has not returned any results that have worked.. I might add, i have been tryiong installation for 3 days, and must of tried about 30 times so far, frustrating it is.
In bios I have disabled:
Lan
USB
HD Audio
turned the cpu to 1 core only, turned the turbo mode to normal.
I have swapped out
PSU
GPU
HDD
DVD ROM
USB keyboard for a PS2
I'm hoping someone here has encountered this before, and can help. If you need more info please ask, and I will post what you need.
