crash after installing on first boot

    That's a new 1. Have you booted from XP CD or Windows 7 DVD?

    i have booted from windows 7 disk
    i worked out that the cd thinks it is on D:\ i worked this out by looking at the dir of all the drives when i try and launch the compmgmtlauncher it says it cant find it
    "windows cannot find "X:\windows\system32\compmgmt.msc".

    the file is def there as i do a dir of system32 and i can find it in the list

    have you been able to navigate to x:\windows\system32?

    x:\
    cd\windows
    cd system32

    I'm gonna have to think about this 1

    i have been able to nav to it
    it is at
    D:\Windows\system32

    sorry that is 2 dif things there
    i did your no screen no usb way with no luck

    and when i put in the install cd and boot from it i get the install options i thought that was what you were asking me

    i am currently sitting in the cmd of the booted cd
