Well the keyboard and mouse are not unresponsive but the cursor has a bad delay and the three ... Aren't moving anymore, is it okay to stop the installation now, or should I give it another hour?

If this was a clean install it should not take this long But since it has gone this far, I would be tempted to keep waiting as I have heard of other users waiting overnight, but win7 did install & then ran ok

Naw I stopped it, these three times took me three days and two nights of trying to install it. The extending windows part alone takes 11.8hrs. I'm gonna try one last time and I'm gonna remove all plug-ins execpt for power and monitor right after the inital steps. I hear this worked for some people. If that doesn't work I'm gonna debate in my mind whether or not to take my computer into a computer repair store so they do it and waste more money on that or just forget about upgrading OS.

Have you removed all but 2gb of RAM to try install?

Do you have monitor outputted via a tv tuner card, tv, projector, anything other than standard VGA monitor output? This often happens when the video driver installs and outputs to alternate video choice.

Reset BIOS CMOS: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixthe.../clearcmos.htm

Check BIOS setup for SATA controller setting. Try ACHI first, then IDE if necc.

Try deep cleaning the HD. Boot Win7 DVD Repair console, open Command Line, type:

DISKPART
LIST DISK
SELECT DISK # (replace # with Win7 target HD #)
CLEAN ALL
EXIT

Now return to Custom>Drive Tools to create and format partition, install.

How do you do the AHCI and BIOS CMOS thing?

Oh yeah figured it out, success! I read that people had to remove RAM and video cards that they added after buying the computer so I replaces my new video card with the original one thinking that maybe the problem lies in that my computer does not have the same hardware as it had when it left the factory. So I did it and there we go, it installed itself in 30 mins and I got it to work. Thanks to all
