Not as obvious as you think

Are you talking about this window?

If so, did it ever work or had it done this ever since you installed Win 7?

Have you tried any of the options listed?

Try booting into Safe Mode and loading any drivers erroring in Device manager, Event Viewer or Diagnostics Performance log.

    This is my system
    Newegg.com - Gateway GT5662 Phenom X4 9500(2.2GHz) 3GB DDR2 500GB ATI Radeon HD 2400XT Windows Vista Home Premium - Desktop PCs

Only thing is that I took out the video card and put in a GTS 250, would I have to flash my BIOS?

ALSO I have a partition that says RECOVERY and I know thats for windows vista, should I delete that? Could that be the reason?

Yes you can delete the Vista recov partition if you want since it is disabled after Win7 install.

Are you booting the Win7 installer, choosing Custom install, and using Drive Tools to delete all, create New partition(s) and format before installing Win7 to first partition?

If so, please post back the exact error you are getting.

Do you have onboard graphics so you can disable the video card for install if necessary? You might also try loading the driver now if you can get into Safe Mode. Or load it into installer at Custom drives screen>Load Drivers link.

Hey greg thanks for the reply, I got it to work! Checking over everything again I saw that the recovery partition was set as the primary one, and the partition with the OS was not. So I figured thats why it always starts up first, so I deleted it and I can now access my windows:) Thanks greg for your help!

    Good job.

I'm sure since it is starting up that your Win7 partition now reads System Active Boot in as it should.

Did it repair itself at restart or did you repair it to write the System MBR to Win7?
