Use free Partition Wizard bootable CD or DISKPART Partition - Mark as Active to make sure Win7 partition is marked Active, then run Startup Repair from the DVD Repair console or Repair CD up to 3 separate times with reboots to repair or rewrite the MBR.

I used the installtion disk this morning and was able to boot to disk. After selecting the language and hitting next it prompted me to select a driver. Selected the Windows 7 C drive and it went straight back into the startup repair. Startup repair did not work and continued to give me the same message mentioned in my first post.

Did you check to make sure your Win7 partition is marked Active and then run Startup Repair repeatedly from the Repair console's Recovery Tools list? Repair console is on second screen: choose "Repair My Computer."

Just ignore the offered Repair, click through to choose Startup Repair from the list to run it up to 3 times with reboots and Win7 should start if it is marked Active using methods I posted earlier.

Should I mark the recovery partition the active partition or the one that is my HDD. I made recovery the active partition and now it starts up w/ bootmgr missing. Thanks for the help. My battery died and Im doing this from phone.

As stated twice earlier, mark the Win7 partition active then run Startup Repair up to 3 times with reboots.

The Win7 partition is not the recovery partition. The Win7 partition is the one with Win7 OS on it.

Why did you mark Recov Partition active - are you trying to run Recovery?

Sorry about the confusion earlier. I selected recovery by mistake. I followed your diskpart checklist and ran it 6 times booting from the HDD and 6 times booting from the cd. Neither process was succesful.

Use Paragon Rescue CD to attempt to recover the failed partition.

If this won't work, then it will allow you to copy over your files to DVD or external USB so you can clean reinstall Win7.

If you are able to post back a screenshot of your Disk Management console from Paragon or Partition Wizard bootable CD's, then we might be able to see what's blocking repair.

I was unable to get the Pragron Rescue Kit to work. I always burns and downloads as an .exe, not a .iso. I tried on both a PC and MAC.

I downloaded partition wizard and was able to boot from that. I was thinking I could use it to copy my HDD to an external HDD since both will show up; however, it has the external HDD marked as "allocated" and I can not get it to "unallocate" to copy.

Any advice on how to get the Rescue Kit to burn as a proper .iso or how to "unallocate" my external HDD in Partition Wizard?

Once again thank you for all the help you guys have given so far.
