I bought OEM ultimate for my build and ultimate full for a clean laptop install - the one in my sig. Microsoft will always release different versions - more $$$. If you can't afford it but Premium - but not you can only install 16GB RAM max. Ultimate increases this to 192GB.
Yes Coolness,
I Know that but what we are looking for is Refreshed Memory. For say, start of an Online Game, All Memory Free. What is the best way to get All Memory FreeNo-one is ever going to need 12gb+ RAM anyway
Brains.
EDIT: I'm back on XP3(same computer), My Win7 RCA Final's drive took a dive didn't even last Four Seasons.
Next drive I'll get a Win 7 Install I'm used to it and I like it.
I've seen these Tokens for VISTA Users that can up Grade to Win7 . How about People like Me who bought XP2 OEM with there Computer Because they/me knew that the OS(VISTA) did Not do what the Administrator would liked it to do.
Out.

The fact that Ultimate has built-in fax software is a biggie for me and I see it's not even listed on the first page features list.
It eliminates your need to have a fax machine as long as you have a modem in your computer.

You will not have to install all your programs over again in a clean install if you do what I did.
Use Acronis 2010 to make a full backup of your present OS partition; create a .vhd file from that backup using Acronis 2010, then you will be able to "attach" the vhd to your clean Windows7 installation and run "most" programs directly off the attached vhd.
I am even able to play Left4Dead off of my vhd file and it runs as well as it did on my old Vista installation.
Now, there WILL be programs that will not run correctly off the vhd that you will have to reinstall to Windows 7. I have not tried running every single program mainly because I did not discover this awesome built-in feature of Windows 7 until AFTER I had reinstalled nearly all of my programs.
So this will save you "some" of the aggravation of a clean installation.
