    installing x86 software on w7 x64


    Hi all,

    Will installing a x86 version application damage my w7 x64 notebook?

    Welcome!

    No, it won't damage your notebook at all. There are a handful of apps that will not work on 64-bit, but it will just result in an error message.

    The truth is, even on 64-bit systems, most applications are 32-bit.

    Thanx Jonathan,

    So i can install the application without worries? It might only result in the application not working if i understand correct?

    Yes, that's correct.

    If it doesn't work, you may try compatibility mode.
