    64 bit Window 7 ultimate

I currently have a 32 bit window 7 ultimate beta version that has expired for sometimes now. Everyday I have received many reminders or my laptop crashed because of this expired version. I just bought a OEM 64 bit Window 7 Ultimate from Newegg for $174.00. I can not seem to get this new 64 bit Window 7 Ultimate version installed. I need help to get this OEM version installed without losing all my files. Please help. Thanks

    Hello Iswitzerland,

Sorry, but you are going to have to do a clean (format) or custom (previous OS files dumped into a Windows.old folder as backup) install of Windows 7 instead. You will not be able to do a inplace upgrade to the newer OEM version. I would recommend that you backup any files that you do not want to lose to be safe though.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

    after backing up your files
adjust bios to boot from cd
    boot your win7 64bit cd
press any key to boot from cd
    format drive
    install OS
