Try re-downloading the ISO image from Microsoft, and burning it at the slowest burn speed to the DVD. If this still doesn't work, try copying the ISO contents to a USB and installing that way. Other solutions suggested have involved turning off any advanced SATA settings in the BIOS.

I got the same error and it was caused by a corrupt download, which I spotted by comparing the total content size of the ISO image to the content size of the USB I copied the data to. Some files hadn't copied and it wouldn't let me copy them when I re-tried. Re-downloading resolved it.

I have download the ISO two times and tried burning at 10x and 8x speeds. Both my DVDs are leading to this same error about the missing drivers to be installed. i have an old optiplex gx260 with XP Pro and im using Microsoft Virtual PC to install windows 7. Thus being that my dvd drive works fine and the virtual machine loads it and i get throgh the "select repair or install" screen to be left hanging at the "Load Driver" screen. any other soulutions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
