    Can't Install 7100

    Hi,

First of all: I have upgraded to 7077 some time ago (from win 7).

When tried to run rc1 setup via win, got:

"Windows could not retrieve information about the disks on this computer."

Anyway, if I boot via dvd, it allows me to do a fresh install and/or upgrade. Of course, when clicking upgrade, it asks to boot and run setup via win.

    Ideas?

I think you would be best to do fresh install and avoid any problems that you might have with upgrade.

If these disks have special drivers (SCSI etc) try using the Load Driver option (if it gives you one). Can't show pic as system is "Pre Boot" therefore no application software running yet.

Nop, it says copying files... and then error after its done. Maybe it's possible to force win upgrade when booting from dvd?

As for clean install... Well, I was thinking to do that after final release, too much time consumption

You will end up spending more time doing the upgrade by the looks of it, I did a fresh install and loaded all my software on in about 2 hours and everything is running great.

Will try to install via safe mode

Same... Oh well, will wait till the next leak. As not sure if few changes are worth fresh install.

There's already a solution to that...

To upgrade from beta you need to:

    - Extract the .iso contents to a storage location you wish to run the upgrade from (a bootable flash drive
or a directory on any partition on the machine running the old build).
    - Browse to the sources directory.
    - Open the file cversion.ini in a text editor like Notepad.
    - Modify the MinClient build number to a value lower than the down-level build. For example, change 7100 to 7000.
    - Save the file in place with the same name.
    - Run setup.exe like you would normally and the version check will be bypassed.

    If you're not upgrading:
Burn and mount, boot from it.

as Mr Grim mentioned, a fresh install is required. Its very quick and resolves your problem.
