To go from 32bit to 64bit requires a clean install. You cannot upgrade

There is no way to upgrade coz 32 bit and 64 bit are processor architechture dependent.Even if your hardware is compatible fully for 64 bit ,there is no way to change to 64 bit directly, a clean install is the only option !

If you purchased one key and received 2 DVD's one 32 bit the other 64, you can do a clean install. However, you can only use that key on one computer at a time.

You can use the method shown in the above tutorial, assuming that you do own a supporting version of Windows, Vista or XP.

64 takes a new install, but the question really is should you go to 64 bit?
If you list your computer specs and what you do with it we can give better advice. In the end the 32 bit runs a tiny bit faster, takes up less disk space and uses less RAM. 64 bit can address more RAM (more programs at once, but usually no faster) and should eventually be faster than 32 bit. Right now we are in transition, we are 64 bit compatible but not 64 bit optimized.
Gamer with 4Gigs RAM or less? 32 bit
Photoshop, CAD, video editor with more than 4 Gigs RAM? 64 bit.

Although I have the processor, memory, etc. I have decided that I doj't want to go through the hassle of a clean install again. Just finished a clean install, about a week ago, of 32 bit.

With 2 G's of RAM, I recommend staying with 32 bit. There would be no gain for you - and less potential driver problems.
