Windows 7 xtreme R1, ever heard of it???

Hey guys, sorry if this was asked before but i did do a search on it and found nothing. Have any of you tried this version of windows? It's called Windows7 xtreme R1 and it's suppose to be just a mod of windows 7 but with lots of cool tweaks. well i got my hands on an installation disc and I was wondering if I should give it a try but I don't want to go through all the hassle just to end up uninstalling it.

    Any input???

It's most likely an modded copy of Windows w/ hacks & tweaks that remove activation and certain features. It's not worth using, you can't ever trust modified system images unless you know exactly where they came from. Even then you should still use your own product key and not rely on activation work arounds.

    Bottom Line: Don't use it.
Use a stock version of Windows 7 that you buy from the store and disable whatever features you don't wish to use.

It really isn't that hard to "tweak" windows to run faster. There are quite a few things you can do including but not limited to:

Running frequent cleaning products & defagmenters
Disabling Windows Features you don't use (Media Player, etc)
    Disabling Visual Effects
    Disabling Services you don't use.

Keep in mind some of that requires that you're an advanced user so that your don't fubar your system.

Don't use hacked OS. They're not worth it. Instead buy a licence, install it and tweak your legit OS yourself.

Here is a link to their web site. As others have said be careful what you load. Its a hacked version and may have some hidden baddies.

Sorry for posting that illegal link. I had not fully read their site before posting.

@ Phone Man: I wouldn't link to that website in this forum. From the first page you can tell it's not a legit OS. It doesn't require activiation. In other words you're linking to Warez.

But it DOES require activation!!! And their 64bit version is not freeware, you have to buy it and they give you a product key and everything. I'm thinking about giving it a shot with my laptop, i don't even use it and i have no important files in there. I'll let you guys know if it's any good...
