Installing W7 to a HDD

    Try the Seven Forums tutorial for writing to flash stick, look for stick in BIOS setup or using one-time Boot Menu key given on first bootup screen. It will sometimes be listed under HD's.

    If the methods given so far fail, there are other methods to write to flash stick which can be used including Win2Flash - ask back here.

    I think it would be very helpful if we had the exact hardware specs of the computer he is wanting to install this on.

    Bootsect will do that for you... It activates the partition, writes the MBR and installs the boot loader...

    some older machines probably can't boot from a flash drive.
