Did you use your friend's dvd and the key off the sticker-how did you get it to activate?
As you said, used his "Home Premium" disc. Just typed the product key from the sticker on the laptop and it installed no problem. If I'd of known the OS discs had all the versions on I'd of done this a long time ago. Sure, you learn something new every day.
