Be sure to enable hardware auto-updating then check optional Windows Updates for any newer drivers: Automatically get recommended drivers and updates for your hardware

Then any drivers missing in the Device Manager can be found on the Dell Support Downloads webpage for your tag number on sticker. There might also be some favorite apps there to download. If you're still missing apps you need, let us know what they are and we can help you further. Driver Install - Device Manager - Windows 7 Forums

If you didn't want to clean reinstall Win7 but instead restore to factory condition with all the preinstalled programs and Dell utilities, you needed to run the Recovery Disks which can be made off of the Recovery Partition, or run the Recovery Partition from boot following the steps given in the Manual on the model's Support Downloads webpage. These disks can also be ordered from Dell.

I done a clean install of windows 7 mate. I have a repair disc for windows 7 before I changed the dvd region I don't suppose that would help me or would it as I can't get it to boot. But if it can I will put the files onto USB mate going to copy all that info on your Hyperlink for later thank you. Who is correct me or the Dell Girl I was just on the phone to? I think the Vista disc comes with the recovery partition on it she said it doesn't

What is it that you are missing or need now?

Did you have a Vista or Win7 Recovery partition on the Dell? Is it still there so that you could run Factory Recovery? Did you make the Factory Recovery Disks when you set up the Dell as required?

Did Dell tell you that there are no Win7 facctory Recovery Disks available for that model - just the OS Installation DVD and drivers disk? Is this because it originally came with Vista?

Have you looked at the drivers disk to see if some of the Dell programs and utilities you're missing are on there?

Have you checked the Dell webpage for your model or tag number to see if you can get some of the missing programs or utilities there?

Please answer the above questions fully and clearly so we can help you.

I had vista with recovery partition now I have windows 7 Professional. No Dell said they don't make they discs at all which is rubbish.
I have looked at the drivers nothing on there looked at the utilities and installed it gives you a little tool box icon going to reinstall it and try a recovery from there. When I install vista it shows a drive named system reserved. But when i try to do a factory reset there is no image following the dell instruction manual. Yes been on the Dell website and I must say the American one is much better here in the uk keep getting error 500 with the site not buying Dell again. I made phonecalls last night to the uk team at dell and they said they can give me vista and the drivers for Ģ30 or windows 7 they were asian and trying to tell them I wanted a factory image disc was some work but they said they don't make them at all. I hope i have answered all your questions i want a Factory reset so i can make my cd/dvd player region free mate. off to install utilities disc again.

Is it possible Dell thought you were asking for Win7 Recovery Disks? They should make Vista Recovery Disks for that model if it came with a Vista Recovery Partition. By running Vista Recovery Disks you could restore the factory installed programs and utiltiies, then do an in-place Upgrade to Win7 if you still want it.

But there might still be a Vista Recovery Partition on the HD if you didn't delete it. Try running Dell Factory Recovery from the HD at boot using Step 3 here: http://support.dell.com/support/topi...&isLegacy=true

Where did you get the Win7 Installation DVD? Do you want Win7 on the computer or Vista?

If you want Win7, then what are you missing that you need and cannot do without?

Can you post back a screenshot of your maximized full Disk Management drive map with listings, using Snipping Tool in Start Menu?

When you tap the F8 key at bootup, is there a Repair My Computer menu showing on the Advanced Boot Tools menu? If so, is there a Factory Recovery listing there? What happens if you try to run it?

Did you look on the Dell Support Downloads webpage for your tag number to see if what you need is there?

What exactly are you missing that you need?
