fresh install on new hdd

    fresh install on new hdd


    i got a new velociraptor harddrive, i want to do a clean install of windows7 and a few games i use often,
    and have my old WD green as storage.
    Is there anything i have to do to reactivate windows7?
    -windows 7 home prem OEM

    You should be fine as long as your motherboard stayed the same. I've swapped hard drives in machines that had OEM copies of Windows of all flavors and it ran just fine. In the event it doesn't work, just call them and tell them what you did and they'll 99.421% of the time be chill.

    Is your OEM copy one you bought or did it come with your machine?

    You may have to make the robocall to MS during activation, which exchanges a series of numbers that update the hardware signature for the install.
