    Auto-Run program problems

I had a version of "Nero" installed on my system. Once I removed it, all of the "auto play" options did not dissapear...So if you want to tell windows to do a specific function when you put an audio CD in, 4 of them are nero functions that do not exsist. See attached screen shot. Is there anyway to remove those?

    Thank you.

How did you remove Nero? Did you use Nero's uninstaller or did you Window's remove programs?

OK. Looking in your Remove Programs, is there any other Nero program shown there? If not, I'm thinking there are left over registry entries.

There are couple of ways you can check this:

    1. You can run regedit, click on find, and enter Nero. This is somewhat tedious as it finds one key at a time. You click on Find next for the next key.

    2. You can run a registry cleaner program like Ccleaner and let it find the keys. If you do this, I suggest you only delete the keys pertaining to Nero unless you see keys there left over from other programs you have uninstalled.

I found a great freeware program that allowed me to go an removed the entried that were/are invalid on my "autostart". It is called "CleanHandlers" and it was very easy to use. Hope this helps anyone else with this problem.
