Clean install problems with Windows 7

I did a clean install of windows 7 to a new western digital HDD and I when I start up my desktop without the win 7 CD in the disk drive, I get a BOOTMGR missing error. But i can load windows 7 with the bootable cd in the disk drive. So i reformatted the HDD and tried a second clean install and same thing happened, "BOOTMGR missing press ctrl + alt + del to restart" Any ideas as to why this is happening?

Welcome to the forums, Download Active@ Kill Disk Hard Drive Eraser. Low Level Format., make a bootable DVD/CD format the HDD with a low level format and it should fix the problem, I had a similar problem trying to enable AHCI every time i did it the install would blue screen hope this fixes your problem.
