Boot up Free Partition Wizard Bootable CD you may be able to recover the partitions. Click Disk at the top of the main interface, then Partition Recovery on the left pane. Do a quick scan. Then tick ALL the partitions you want to keep, ok, apply.

From the sound of it , there is something wrong with your installation anyway - so you may just prefer to reinstall.

Honestly your best bet is going to be just reinstalling, and is there any reason you are using multiple partitions anyway? I really haven't heard of anyone seriously using that on personal computers since we went to NTFS file systems (Unless for a dual boot config with linux or some such)

I use multiple partitions all the time. I recommend others do the same.

For what purpose, though? How is that more efficient?

Basically, if the above post is a bit unclear... I need to know how to manage the partitions before going into windows and to wipe the two I have on it and create two new ones, one system primary, and one logical/extended..

Well, you should see the partitions\unallocated space during the Windows setup process. I would think that would be more than adequate to address your partitioning needs if you are in fact doing a complete reinstall. It's a bummer to have to do it that way. I hope that you didn't lose a lot of work
