Re Install

I recently had to reinstall windows 7 on my Dell Studio 1745. When I purchased it, it came with a neat desktop bar?? that had the recycle bin and IE icons plus a few others. Since my reload I can't find this application. Any suggestions.

do you have a restore partition that contains a win 7 backup? do you have a restore Dvd?

yes I do

Did you check for an Apps CD to see if it is included? Check with Dell Support to see if they will provide it, as they still provide a clean-copy Win7 DVD sometimes along with apps disk necessary for a clean reinstall.

If all else fails, before having to do a Restore you might try adapting this workaround to extract apps from HP Recovery disks, as I've been able to get it to work on Acer and Gateway: https://www.sevenforums.com/installat...tml#post488270
