    Win7 back to win-XP

    Good day all,
i`v got win 7 in my PC .. BUT not the original copy! so i really want to go away from non original as i hate that! i have already purchased windows XP Home-Edition SP3 along with original key ..

Now the question is .. how i can install the win XP in the same PC running win7

I tried but inserting the win XP but the INSTALL option doesn't seems appear due to system running win7 already!

There must be an easy way (i`m sure) to install the win XP with less steps

    I need your help guys

    Thanks ... :)

Normally the older OS (XP) is installed first, but you can still boot from the dvd and install XP to a different partition. It is going to need a bit of boot loader modification to make the machine a true dual boot.

You normally have to have XP install prior to Windows 7, so that 7 will see that another OS is install thus allow you to set up a dual booth system.

If you do not want to go through the process of reinstalling Win 7 then download a copy of Virtual Box (Virtual Machine) and set up XP in a VM.

Follow the tutorial here for Dual Boot with Win7 installed first: Dual Boot Installation with Windows 7 and XP

You need to boot the XP CD: Boot from CD - How to Boot your Computer from a Bootable CD or DVD - Boot to CD

What do you mean that Win7 is not "original" and you want to "go away from that?" Please explain so we can help you better.

If you follow the links posted by gregrocker you'll get it working. To install XP you'll have to boot to the install disc from boot options (usually f10 or f12) depending on the type of computer you have.

Can i drop my last question!? :)

Other way ... is there any way that i can completely delete the O/S from the PC and start from the ZERO as new PC with O/S to install the winXP?

I would like to get the PC as no O/S ... it seems more easy to do that and then install the winXP on easy and clean way?

Thanks guys again .............................. Trust me .. this is last question

Just boot the XP CD and when it gets to the screen asking where you want to install, delete all the partitions, create a new one for your XP installation, then format it full NTFS before install.

If you think the Win7 bootleg copy you installed is infected, you should probably wipe the HD using free Partition Wizard bootable CD.
