Hello Junkieweb, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Your CPU will support the 64-bit Windows 7, but you will also need to make sure that all of you devices have 64-bit drivers available for them.

However, you will probably not notice any difference between them though with normal PC usage. Here's some reading that may help decide if you will also.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

The only real extra usage for the average user is the ability to utilize the extra memory.

With only 2gig you will probably find that x64 will run or feel to run slower than x86.

This has been noted in a couple of other threads here aswell...

yes its a current limitation to 32BIT OS's as you hit a 3.25GB boundry with 4gb+ on an 32bit OS,

an 64bit vers of xp, vista and 7 will let you use all of your ram

    Hello Kallib,

It mostly depends on how much your motherboard can hold and for what type of RAM. A 64-bit Windows will just be able to use the 8GB of RAM, where a 32-bit Windows can only use up to 3.25 GB of the RAM no matter how much your motherboard can hold.

Another issue to look at with using a 64-bit Windows is that you will need to have 64-bit drivers available for all of your devices, and that your software will run on a 64-bit Windows.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn
