Bootmgr missing, problem seems unique from other cases
Hello,
I just did a clean install of Windows 7 on my computer, after formatting my hard-drive containing Vista. The installation process ran smoothly and Windows 7 booted up (from the install) just fine.
But as soon as I restarted my computer, I got the bootmgr missing error. I have tried the fixes I found, running through a repair and using the cmd commands (/fixmbr /fixboot /rebuildbdc) but none of those are working.
I have searched for answers, but where my problem seems unique is that 7 boots up just fine from the install, but then wont restart.
Some information that might be pertinent.
I do have a second hard drive for backing up files when I do the install, but at no point do I touch that hard drive. Could it be that I need to do the install with that hard drive disconnected?
I am not trying to run a dual-boot. I simply formatted the HD and went for a clean install.
The problem has happened both times I installed Windows 7.
If I neglected to find an already posted answer for this same problem, I apologize. Please link me the post and I'll let you know if it works.
Thanks.
