Hmm, there are many programs that are incompatible with 64-bit, at least for now. I would prefer 64-bit but the compatibility with other programs that require 32-bit would get in my way.
Well, a lot of us here have been using x64 OSes since Vista, and most of us have very little problems.

Worst case is you try it and cant use a few programs.

+1 and on the odd occasion you find one that doesn't work, thats what XP Mode is for

Yeah, though even then if you find a program that ISN'T x64 compatible, it might be time to find a new program.

Yet, those few programs can be pretty essential... oh well.

Again, if it is essential, maybe it is time to find a new one.

Typically, those "essential" programs are very expensive.

What program is it? I've only run across one program that doesn't work for me. It was poorly coded and included a 16-bit printing sub-system. 16-bit does not run on 64-bit (CPU issue).

Most of the time games, the hardcore ones, I stumble upon many people who use 64-bit people which encounter many errors or problems.

Still, if I had to upgrade to 64-bit, I would need to get a new CD, also re-installation of all of my programs... I cannot count how many times I have re-installed.
