32 bit vs 64 bit Comparison

I was leery of getting a 64 bit system when I bought mine. Glad I did. This article does help with understanding what is what with them. I do appreciate it.

Launching an application not adapted for the 64-bit platform might on the contrary cause great performance loss depending on the specifics of the architecture of the processor being used.

Regarding the OP, interesting read that 64-bit has performance advantages in computation, however these advantages are still due to increased addressing space of some sort or another, the computation takes just as long.

Changes in CPU architecture are specific to the number of bits your using for address space?

Can I install win7/64 over my existing 32 bit OS or do I need to remove the 32 bit system first?
