Starts XP installation in dual boot, then the computer shuts off

I started with Windows 7 and when the computer reboots to install Windows XP it starts the installation process then the computer shuts off? What do I do?

Actually this thread was originally a post in that thread but Brink turned it into this snazzy thread. Thanks.

But now that I have this thread allow me to further describe the problem.

I created the partition and then installed XP on it (for whatever reason it didn't need any drivers for the hard drive)

After waiting a bit it rebooted and after it started up it started the installation process and then shut off. I kept rebooting but same result. I have tried a new disk and it seems to be working so far though.

How much RAM is installed in the system?

If you have more then 2 gigs you should remove all but 2 gigs and try that.

If you have more than 1 stick of RAM you should remove all but 1 stick and try installing XP.
