    Re-installing Windows Vista

I did a full upgrade from Vista to Win7 RC but now I want to have Vista installed as well... I have an HP dv7 and it doesn't come with a CD of the OS but has a 'recovery drive'. Is this possible?

Also do I need a completely clean partition to run 2 OSs or can I just intall it on the same one as Win 7?

    Thanks

When you do a recovery using the recovery partition it will probably overwrite
your win 7 install and put your machine back to the state it was in when you bought it.

If that is ok, then you have to carve out a partition on your hard drive to install
the Win 7 after if you want both.

Can I still keep the files on my hard drive will the recovery be more likely to format first?

You will loose everything, it will become as you bought it.

Hmm I'll probably pass then... not sure it's worth the effort of backing up all my files.

    Thanks for the info.
