Installed windows 7 - want to remove XP
Ok first of all can someone show me a way to get rid of xp on multi/dual boot cause all it's doing is taking up space and I don't use xp anymore.

1) Download SIW2 Tool sispar to your desktop, from here.
NTLDR is Missing
Boot loader on separate partition?
2) Unzip download.
You can download 7zip from here,
Download
3) Open folder, Right Click and run as admin on sispar.cmd.
4) Press enter
5) Enter the drive letter you want for the NEW system partition (must be a Primary partition with 7 on it)
6) If you want to include all your current boot menu items (assuming you have more than one) type Y when it asks, if you only want the boot menu entry for the New system partition, type N.

Do you want to recover your XP HD space into Win7 at the same time you delete XP and recover the System MBR into Win7?
If so, please post back a screenshot of your full Disk Management drive map and listings, using Snipping Tool in Start Menu, attach file using paper clip in Reply Box.
Using free Partition Wizard bootable CD, you can mark Win7 active, delete XP, Resize Win7 to include deleted XP space, then boot the WIn7 DVD Repair console or Repair CD to run Startup Repair up to 3 separate times with reboots to write the MBR to Win7 (what Sispar tool above also does).
Just post back the screenshot if you want the steps to do this.

Ok, this was did not work. My computer is on black screen of death before the OS has even started. What do you suggest I do now? The two OS were on the same hard drive just different partition. Now I can't do anything. The only keys that work are CTRL+ALT+DEL and it just restarts the computer.Download SIW2 Tool sispar to your desktop, from here.

I think my PC is unrecoverable now. I cannot do anything. I tried to install XP but when it reboots to continue installation it says NTDLR is missing press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart.
Nothing is working. My computer has gone.

Phew. I am the luckiest computer guy in the world. My XP installation is working and I am jumping with joy. I am never going to do that again. I think the method theog showed was one that changed my primary file to a system file but the boot files and NTDLR file went missing meaning I couldn't boot up properly. So I tried to repair this with my Win7 window but no avail, my computer couldn't read the cd for some reason. So once again the XP cd was at my saviour and did a clean install.

Please post a screenshot of the Disk Management window, so I can try and figure out what you did that went wrong .

BTW error code 5 usually indicates your pc can't handle the win 7 install dvd. You will probably find it can boot other install dvd's .e.g. Vista /XP.
Were you able to boot the 7 dvd previously on that machine?
You might find there is a mobo bios update that will fix it. But, unless you are quite experienced, it's probably best not to try and update the bios.
Otherwise, if you want a bootable Win7 dvd for installation /repairs, you need to remake it using the Vista bootsector instead.
