Even though you select clean install (custom, advanced option), when you get to the drives, select the one you'll be installing W7 on, click "drive options", format (it will format in a couple seconds in ntfs) then hit "next" and let the process continue. No prob, we're all learning here!

I have a 2 computer set up my main one, with 2 HD's, and one that I use as a spare with 2 HD's, I can have XP Pro on one drive and my Win 7 beta on the other drive. I have a dual boot set up and use a KVM swich to go between both computers. The spare one has the XP Pro and Win 7 one that other drive.

Just to make it a little clearer as to what my set up is. Answering questions I know is hard enough, and even harder with out knowing all the things involved.

Thanx...Gunny

Win 7

Hi Gang

Well here I am again with more news. It worked ok booted up and everything, only problem is I lost my dual boot and what use to be my C drive, is now my D drive. But I cannot get to my D drive, when ever it boots up since I don't have the dual boot it goes to my Win 7 RC drive.

Win 7 RC is working ok and looks great now if I can only get back my D drive, I will be in good shape. Is there any way to get back my dual boot, with out Partition Magic. I use to have that program, but some how it is gone. Any and all help appreciated. I appreciate you helpig me get my Win 7 Rc operating. C use to be my XP Pro drive and D was my Win 7 beta drive, now they are reversed.

Thanx....Gunny

Let me run this by you, I have been thinking how I can retrace my steps some how. This is my idea, what can't I reformat the drive that Win 7RC is on.? I don't have anything on it exept Win 7RC any way. If I did this would this not make my XP drive boot up, since it still has an operating system on it. I would rather do this and have to reinstall Win 7RC then to lose my XP. I don't have a program like Partition Magic, so would this not work.?

I have the Win 7RC disk that I made, and I have the back up stuff, so what would this not work. Sure it is going to take some time but I don't mind the time as compared to losing XP. I think I caused the dual boot to get messed up by clicking on the wrong partition when installing Win 7RC. Let me know what you think of my idea.

Thanx...Gunny
