;D thanks!!! just to make sure again, cause i am not sure if we are talking about the same thing..

    Notice i have C(windows vista 32bit), I, J, K on HDD(1), if i format, C and install windows 7 64bit on C drive.. do i see my files on I, J, and K?

thanks for helping again and again!!! very much appreciated. sorry for being a trouble!!
My question is WHY do you not simply DUAL Boot or even TRIPLE boot and have both Vista (x86) and Win7(x86) and Win7 (x64).?
    I have Vista SP2 on C: amd Win7 on L:
you can open MSCONFIG to switch to your preference of BOOT Drive. or use the arror up/down key to change... when you boot if you dual boot.

Yes, it depends on how your sources/cversion.ini is set if to allow you to upgrade from Vista to Win7 or not to upgrade.

Agree why not keep vista intact. If in fact you do have trouble it will be thare as an allternitive os? If you format c then bye bye vista.

you should change your ESET firewall to "interactive" , The only version of ESET SS I had any problems with was 4.0.417... 4.0.424 solved that problem.
