Window's 7 help!

Well, recently I have bought window's 7. I have extracted the file from the CD on a different PC. & i have installed it successfully. & now, I have tested out Linux 10.04 which I have dual booted with Window's 7. But when I have dual booted with a program called "Wubi", It has disable my function for f8 to show the grub menu. I have posted this in the ubuntuforums but they told me to come here. So I am asking, How many I reinstall Window's 7 without a CD-rom? & My bios doesn't show my USB in the boot tab. So what do i do? I was thinking of installing through network. But, It's to much of a nuisance. Need for information? Just ask for it.

When installing Ubuntu on a Windows machine using Wubi the GRUB boot loader is not installed and the Windows boot loader stays intact.

Please explain your system setup, what is the USB drive for?

Why do you need to reinstall Windows 7 at all, let alone without a DVD?

From what I can make out from your post you have installed Ubuntu on both a partition and using Wubi.

Please create a System Repair Disc - Create if possible. If not use your Windows 7 install disk.

Now follow the tutorial at reinstall Windows 7 boot loader | Windows Reference.

This should sort out your problem.

The USB drive is for the installation because my CD/Burner has broke down. & I'm not willing to buy a new one. & That i am stuck on ubuntu now so I can not access the Windows 7 partion.

If there's no access to Windows or a DVD drive then there's not much I can help you with.

I know absolutely nothing about the GRUB boot loader other than how to remove it using Windows.

I also have no clue how to edit the boot loader settings from inside Ubuntu.

Try talking to the people on Ubuntu forums again. I highly doubt anyone on this forum will know how to do this and Ubuntu forums is your best bet.

I am a bit concerned that they sent you here, when you have no access to the windows Install DVD, Windows or the Windows boot loader.

Sorry.

Alternately, if this friends PC is a Desktop (or a laptop and he/she doesn't mind you swapping out HDD's), you could mount your HD in it, and use that person's CD drive to use the Windows install CD.

Further, if you re-install using the other PC and your hard-drive, go through the install, but dont activate it. Put the HD in your Sony and activate the windows so it is activated with your hardware.

It's not advertising don't worry .

Advertising is "call me on 1234-555-789 if you live in the Such and such area and we can help ($5/min)" or something like that .

Adding 'open in new window' to search results, & opening in new window
Whenever I search in W7, I want to have the ability to open found folders in a new window. If I r-click, that option is not there. Is there a way to add this to W7? Also: When I go to 'open file location', the file's folder opens in the same window - highly annoying. In Vista, it opens in a new...
