Windows 7 x64 won't install (20% Extracting)
Hello sevenforums users!
I must be doing something stupid
I have downloaded 3 windows ISO's- 7000 from torrent, 7100 from torrent, and 7100 RC from Microsoft. None of them work. Please note I have burned them at 4x and verified them. The torrentred ones were CRC checked on the fly, and the microsoft one passed it's check (I tried downloading once before that- it said it was corrupted! Ouch, after day and night of downloading!) They will not do anything if I boot them directly- After I choose a drive to install to, Copying Files jumps to 100% and proceeds to Extracting files, and then about 5 mins later, it gives the message "Error Code (forgotten) Please make sure all installation sources are available and try installing again" or something like that. The percentage remains 0%. If I run the installer from Windows XP Professional x64 edition, I can install the windows files (Proceeds to 100% at a decent rate, not jumping straight to 100%) and will get to 20% Extracting Windows Files, and reboot. Windows will "resume" the installation, and give a dialog similar to that when I was installing through XP (normal ), showing "Extracting Windows Files (20%)". In about two minutes it will show "Error Code (forgotten) Please make sure all installation sources are available and try installing again" (or something similar to that). HUH?
Hope it's an easy fix. Specs in account...and there was someone who had the same problem, who fixed it himself, and I tried that, but have lost the bookmark when accidentally trying to install Windows 7 to the wrong partition...
Please help, 0xFFender.
