That's the SDK you are trying to install, not the End User Runtime,

Download details: DirectX Redist (June 2010)

Download, extract, run the setup.exe found in the extracted folder.

I extracted it to a folder and got alot of winrar files with dates which is shown in the picture and the setup file. i ran that and got the same message as before.

I'm wondering if the AVG I can see on your first desktop picture is what is causing the problem. See if you can completely disable AVG (or at least any real time scanning/protection), and then try installing it again.

I just tryed that and got the same message as before

Have you tried downloading it again just in case the first got corrupted? Also if you are using any download manager, disable it when you download.

Yes i have downloaded via the game and via the microsoft website. And i don't have a download manager of any kind.

I have directx! I just tryed to download it again from microsoft but a different link and it worked Thanks for the help stormy.

Now that you have managed to install DirectX, does the game work? If not, then it might require a specific version of DirectX. What is the game?

Yeh thats the exact link i used which worked. and yes, now i have directx installed the game is working perfectly.
