    Windows 7 +ubuntu

    Cant boot into Ubuntu.!

I used Ubuntu (Lucid Lynx) for like one month.
    Then installed Windows 7 Ultimate.
It over-written (i think so!) the GRUB bootloader.
So the Windows 7 bootloader now shows up without Ubuntu as an option.

So, I googled it and then researched some Ubuntu forums..

    But i cannot fix it.

Please gimme a step-by-step guide for getting the option of booting Ubuntu.
I dont have the Live CD.

i want to install GRUB thru Windows(if its possible)

please do not redirect me to any other forum or links.

    Thanks.

I run a dual-boot setup and, as far as I know, you can NOT install GRUB2 through Windows.

You will need a LiveCD to be able to do this because you will have to boot into Ubuntu to do the install. You certainly can't boot into Ubuntu from inside Windows.

Sorry, but I don't have the particular details handy for how to reinstall GRUB2 from an Ubuntu LiveCD, so if you check on the Ubuntu forums, I'm sure you will find posts about how to reinstall GRUB2 using an Ubuntu LiveCD.
