Windows 7: Boot entry missing

since my task-manager reports a dual core processor when I have a quad core (EVEREST reports 8 but that is threading I believe), I am attempting to enable the remaining cores.
I have already enabled all cores in BIOS as well as multi-threading, really the only place I have left to check is the boot tab in msconfig's advanced options

Also, when rendering 3DMax only reports two cores instead of four

When in Ubuntu, System monitor also reports up to CPU8 (4 pairs)

Your bcdedit output lists:
numproc 2!!

Code:
bcdedit/store c:\boot\bcd /deletevalue {default} numproc
Command succesfully? If so do it again.. now it fails because "element not found"?
Now it uses all your cores!! Reboot and test

You have 1 cpu with 4 cores. Each core has hyperthreading.

I am asking myself the same question now!!
It just seemed like I was on the right track, and when I read the original question on this thread, it seemed like it was the exact same problem I had.

Thanks again

Hi,
my friend had used Windows 7 and Ubuntu as dualboot on her hdd, now she bought ssd and installed Windows 8.1 on it, to experience all cool thing that ssd brings.

We didn't know how to solve boot entries on two disks so she always had to rapidly press bootmenu hotkey on her keyboard to choose to boot from hdd or ssd. Now Windows 8.1 shows some wrong bcd entry message and linux has gone from boot choices.

What is the best method to recover all three boot choices and if possible to avoid hitting bootkek at starting PC.

We don't care which boot loader will be used (grub2 or Windows boot...), just want to be able to use one Boot Menu and be able to boot into all three OS.

Will that solve the problem ?

Simple solution to your problem will be using Boot-Repair.Run Ubuntu live cd.Open terminal and type:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:yannubuntu/boot-repair && sudo apt-get update Press Enter and type:
sudo apt-get install -y boot-repair && (boot-repair &) And press Enter. Now type boot-repair and press Enter once again. Use *Recommended repair. It will do the job.
Or Should We with EasyBCD try to find lost win81 and ubuntu entries from Windows 7 that is still bootable.

Win 7 was E: drive when I boot into Win 8.1

Is there any way I could provide you log from easybcd so you could see more about situation?
We tried with Win 8.1 installation disk but the repair didn't started there was an error (I don't remember which) and then we tried with command prompt to fix and rebuild boot but after that we lost windows 8.1 boot choice and the only one left was Win 7.

So you are now booted to win7? Post screenshot of disk management and tell me the drive letter of win8.
Post outlog of this as well (for elevated comman prompt):
Code:
bcdedit/enum all
