Well, if you used Soluto, it would also have tracked your boot apps and told you which ones are slowing you down. You should be able to remove them in soluto. So whats the problem?

    Firewire,

I dont have soluto on the machine I'm using right now. But try right clicking or double clicking on that system file, it might yield some info. Also, what category does Soluto slot it in (No brainer etc.)?

Also, take a look at the startup tab in MSCONFIG. You can try disabling unnecessary items there. Normally you would need only the AV and maybe the touchpad driver to be checked.

Boot times may fluctuate, because some processes behave differently across different boots. @firewire: how did additional boots look like? Closer to 1.2m or to 2.1m?

"System" is a core Windows process that hosts other Windows core sub-systems and processes, so it obviously cannot be removed from boot, and its behavior is not 100% repetitive in consecutive boots.

Sorry I can't be more helpful on that point. Soluto's first feature gives you visibility into the boot process and allows you to make changes in it, but the boot process is still a heavily statistical process with components that behave stochastically. If you have additional questions about Soluto feel free to contact us at support@soluto.com, or just write me directly (or post in sevenforums... :) )

Check Performance-Diagnostics log which logs startup and shutdown hangs.

Uncheck everything in msconfig>Startup except AV and gadgets if u use them.

Also work through repeat errors in Event Viewer>Admin View by Googling their text.
