In synthetic testing, sure. In real-world testing, no, you'll see small gains in specific areas only, and a decrease in performance in others, such as seek times. That's why the RAID0 hype died a few years ago, thanks to many well-known and respected review sites and their detailed testing, such as Anandtech, who led the way to the myth's debunking.
