windows disc will not read

    How did you install Windows 7 the first time? Have you cleaned the disc yet?

    the first time i was in windows as noramally and it load it took a while to read but now it trys to read it but fails

    Where did you get the Win7 DVD, or is it a DownLoaded .iso burned to DVD ?

    You said the CD-ROM is the first in the boot order, that needs to be changed so the DVD drive is the first in the boot order because Windows 7 comes on DVD, not CD.

    If that's not the problem, where did you get the Windows 7 DVD from? Is this the first time you've tried to use it? Can you boot it on a different computer just to see if it's any good?

    Try extracting the files from the DVD using PowerISO or 7Zip, then run Setup as Admin.

    If the files won't run this way to do a Repair Install, you'll need to borrow or locate another installer for your version, or unlock all versions in any Win7 ISO: Ei.cfg Removal Utility Lets You Use Any Product Key With Your Windows 7 Disc
