How to kill a Ninja Tuna...?

I keep getting the album art for Ninja Tuna (Mr Scruff) appearing in Windows 7 Media Center - in the album art waterfall... it doesn't actually list in my library.

    I have tried:

    - obviously deleting the Ninja Tuna MP3s

    - deleting the Art Cache folder in C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\eHome

    - deleting everything out of C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Media Player

It still keeps appearing when Windows rebuilds its library...

    Any ideas?

    Mr Scruff

I do not embrace Mr Scruff. I just want it "outta here". I suspect Microsoft was paid extra to make it "sticky". Too bad some hacker has not taken it on as a personal challenge to get rid of it.

You likely have the album artwork, which Windows caches as hidden system files, still in your music folder. As long as the artwork is there it will keep being cached in the Windows Media Center album artwork waterfall. To delete the artwork you first have to be able to see it.

Open up the Folder Options dialog window from the Start menu by typing "Folder Options" or find it in the Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Folder Options > Show hidden files and folders. On the View tab, under Advanced settings: scroll down to "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)" and uncheck it.

On my installation the offending "Mr. Scruff Ninja Tuna" artwork was in C:\Users\Public\Music\Sample Music.

To find other hidden album art search for *.jpg in the music folders.

That was the trick! It wouldn't be so bad but that is the ugliest album I've ever seen!
