    W7 Hidden Files Problem

    mikinho said:
Tis true. My fix is that I create a hidden folder that the files get moved into and the playlist updated. Working on a fix to genre and MPAA today and will be releasing a minor update when complete.
    Hi,
Firstly - Great Program!!! I came up with my own fix for the hidden files issue, hope it helps....
All I do is AFTER Yammm has created the ".wvx" file, i RENAME the hidden files from ".avi" to ".av" then open up the ".wvx" file in notepad and change the filenames to ".av", and obviously save the edited file. Then only the ".wvx" file shows in Media Center, and it plays fine.

    Cheers,

    MexicoMatt

Folder rename stopped but metadata keeps coming back...

    Hello all YAMMM fans!

Ive got a weird one here...

I just bought and ripped a copy of The Fighter (2010) to my digital collection... I tried both the [Exact] and [imdb=tt######] options, and the metadata keeps coming back as Fighter (2007)... regardless of either of the above options. All they seem to be doing is preventing the folder from renaming... any ideas or suggestions?

Hello. After a long absence from this forums, I´m back, and in full charge.

Well, first of all, I want to hail Mikinho for this excellent software. I just need to format my pc and reinstall everything, and one of the first things that come back to the pc is Yammm.

Second, I have some issues with some files in my HDD:

Iron Maiden´s Death on the Road (IMDB link) --> it not load any info of it.
Mononoke-hime (IMDB link) --> this one load the movie picture, but nothing about the synopsis.

    Any help will be apreciated.

Hey, there is any fix to that problem concerning 3 apparitions of the same movie in WMC, when the movie is splitted in 2 parts? (with subtitles splitted in two parts, too)

    Thanks in advance.

The problem with Yammmm is that it is too inconsistent and not really properly localized. Although these problems are at the back-end, there's not really much point in a front-end that uses a crappy back-end.

    For example, on the consistency side, I have the Titanic 3-Disc release, where the actual film is split across the first 2 discs. The structure is;

    Movies
    |
    ---Titanic (1997) [Disc 1]
    ---Titanic (1997) [Disc 2]

Yet Yammm/TMDB insisted on pulling down artwork and metadata for the 1953 version. No matter what I tried it just would not work.

On the localisation side, I am based in the UK so only want UK/US artwork thanks. Not French, in all it's 'Une film de John Frankenheimer' glory in the case of French Connection II.

My biggest problem with all these meta data apps though is the artwork. I have not yet come across one that only uses the original poster artwork (which is what I want), from when the film was released. I find it's a mix and match between DVD cover, Blu-ray cover, and some random DIY job, so the artwork when browsing the movie library just looks tacky.

    Hi.

did you try to rename the folder as tt0120338? Or, Titanic [imdb=tt0120338]?

This works as a charm with my files that have folder or name problem.

The only severe inconsistence that I have is the problem of WMC showing 3 instances of the movie (playlist, part 01 and part 02). But this is a bad feature of WMC, not of Yammm.

I dont have that problem with the original art folder, except with the movie The 13th Warrior (it give me a German version).

    Edit:

I just want to add that I tested the second option tonight:
    - Create an empty folder
    - Named it Titanic [imdb=tt0120338]

In a minute, it was with synopsis and correct cover image., so it can work for you. Remember to first delete the wrong image. :)

Hi, sorry for the late reply.

It could be an issue with the API from themovieDB.org but I cannot be certain. I'm sure mikinho will be working on various resolutions in upcoming version of YAMMM
