Why don't you just run the movie through MCE, there are subtitles in there and they can easily be turned on/off?
How can I load subtitles through MCE? It's not possible, I already turned on and it works only WMP12, I just downloaded DirectVobSub and followed this small tutorial and it's working perfectly If you know how to do on MCE plz let us know:)

At the bottom of the Settings Application installed with the Win7codecs,
choose to use the SUGGESTED settings, and enjoy your movies, with subtitles.
