NE1 With Media Center TV Working + McAfee Protection?

I've just about given up on ever watching TV in the latest abortion they call Media Center in build 7100.
It's always been pernickety but at least it worked in the previous build and I know that AMD/ATI don't have Win 7 drivers/software for their TV Wonder cards.
I suspect either a recent Windows update or McAfee software. The latter because a lot of people are complaining to Dell on their forums and all have McAfee.
I just managed to get it working OK in Vista, well a bit scratchy, but nevertheless working...by uninstalling McAfee.

Any comments and any ideas on how to unbreak it without sarificing protection?

This is all extremely annoying because until a month ago MC worked almost flawlessly every time in both OS's.

Don't ask me to reinstall anything because I've already done that at least 500 times.

(I have a vested interest in Media Center right now because my brand new HDTV has conked out and it'll be at least a week before the part is in stock).

Footnote: McAfee have fessed up that they are aware their software is screwing up Media Center by regarding it as a network device. The trouble is no change of settings seems to help.

The 2010 product line which is entering beta in a few weeks should cure the situation.

This problems also surfaced in Vista and, as I used McAfee there, it appears that it is the culprit.

This is difficult for me as I'm a Moderator at McAfee Forums....LOL.

Have windows 7, home premium. Can't get mce to setup. Message"media center not working"
reason i'm responding is that i had mcafee installed, but tried mce with tv wonder and tv tuner would not work, but media center was at least "willing to try"
i now have norton and mce won't even talk to me. I have also uninstalled/reinstalled this , that and whatever to no avail.
I'm wondering if the problem is due to a windows update

Not sure I'm reading this correctly... but I have W7x64 and I'm trying to get Media Center Extender working with my xbox360... I keep getting the McAfee Personal Firewall is blocking error, but I can't identify anything that would be stopping the connection. I've all but uninstalled McAfee.

I am running a dell xps machine that I upgraded from Vista to 7 Home Premi. It's connected to a 2Wire router/gateway via Ethernet over Power. The xbox360 is connected via wireless g.

    Is there any solution?
