WMP12 - only noise with m2t files - Can anyone help?

    Hi there,
Just installed Win 7 ultimate 32bits, and can't play m2t files anymore.
It use to work under win7 premium.
I hav installed then uninstall OGM and VLC, video and sound work with theses player but WMP give better video resolution and better sound?
    Is it a codec conflict?
    Any idea would be appreciated!
    Cheers!

This is more than a codec issue with Windows 7 systems.

The file extension, m2ts, comes under the 'supported' umbrella of the Microsoft codecs. Only problem is, Microsoft does not own the specification for the container and many forms of audio/video can be contained in a m2ts file.

Installing the Win7codecs and selecting the SUGGESTED settings checkbox from the Settings Application will allow this file to be played by the Windows installed players, WMP and Media Center. Those people with 64bit Operating Systems will also need the x64Components addon. Use the MajorGeeks buttons on the main website to download the installers
MajorGeeks is the one and only 'official' distribution site.

    Hi Shark007,
Thanks for the tip, however, it still does not fix the problem, I get the same noise with wmp even after installing the codec pack. Very annoying, especially coz it use to work with home premium!
    Any other ideas?
    Thanks

Yeah that was done as well, but still a no go...
Just wondering if I need to uninstall other third party codecs? No too sure how to find them...

For some people, choosing to disable User Account Control (UAC) causes the codecs to not register properly.

If you have disabled UAC, uninstall the codecs (there is an uninstall button on the Help TAB),
re-enable UAC to default, reboot, re-install the codecs, re-select the suggested settings.

Thanks for your help, found the problem, it seemed that there was a conflict with other third party codec, It's working on WMP12 when I am disabling them.
    Cheers!
