    .MTS Have video, no sound.

    Hey,

I just transfered some video from my CANON HF R10 HD CAM. It is an AVCHD cam and the files transfered over have a .MTS extension and also a .CPI file with the same name.

For some reason I can see the video through either media player or through the media center, but there is no sound. The program it came with PIXELA Imagemixer plays the video fine and has sound but I do not want to use this program. I want to be able to view everything through window default programs.

My OS is Windows 7 64bit Home premium.

Now I did check from my laptop running 32bit windows home premium the same files through the network and both Video and Sound works.

So, what can I do to fix this?

Please help, it's driving me nuts. I'm tired and want to go to bed.

Install the Shark007 Win7codecs. Open the installed Settings Application and check the box for SUGGESTED settings. All you files will play now.

The suggested settings can sometimes break MP4 playback.
ONLY IF you have problems with an MP4, go to the SWAP TAB and re-enable Media Foundation.

I fixed it! I ran the microsoft troubleshooter to test the hardware and I am using both the onboard and external sound card and had to switch the default and that fixed it. Thanks for your help!
